The San Francisco 49ers will open its 2008 NFL regular season against an NFC West foe when they host the Arizona Cardinals at Candlestick Park on September 7. It will mark the third straight year that the 49ers will open the season against the Cardinals.

The NFL 2008 Schedule should be released in the next few weeks. In anticipation of this schedule release, here's a preview of each of the 49ers 2008 home and away opponents.

The 49ers players apparently took Sunday’s Fan Appreciation Day at Monster Park to heart. On their way to the ultimate holiday gift, a 21-19 victory over the Tampa Bay Bucs, Vernon Davis and Frank Gore showered the fans with some love in both end zones, leaping into the stands after their touchdown catches. The defense also got into the celebration frenzy with Nate Clements electrifying the crowd with a 62-yard interception return and then keeping them on their feet as he pounded on the drums with Niners Noise.
